Juanita’s Place at Seaward Pottery was an exceptional find. It’s uniqueness puts it at the top of our list of places we have stayed around the world over many years. It’s private location near the end of the beach road provides solitude and wonderful views of the mountains and ocean. A 10 min drive to Kaikoura, gives access to an excellent supermarket, good restaurants and many interesting shops. We especially enjoyed the hike/bike trails along the Hapuku and Kowhai Rivers and walks on the beach.

Modern amenities, artistic features, expansive decks and the large sculpted yard all added to the wonderful experience we had. With no light pollution, you can almost touch the stars on a clear night. All the best!!

From the moment myself and my family of 7 arrived at the Kiwa Road House the adventure began! The house was such a generous space for everyone to have their own areas and with great living and dining areas to come together for meals. I loved being able to see my daughters through the kitchen window as they got the hang of surfing and my sons playing soccer & tag on the huge lawn areas. They really have thought of everything you would need to have the perfect stay. I was so pleased about the espresso machine and my kids thought the ice maker & party sized blue tooth speaker were the best things ever. Thank you so much for creating such a phenomenal space for families and big groups to enjoy. This place is truly one-of-a-kind. Never have I ever stayed somewhere were I felt as truly relaxed as I did at Seaward Pottery. The kitchens (there are two!) on the property are perfect for cooking up a storm for large groups and there was nothing better than relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck watching the sun set in the evening. You can just tell how much love and care has been put into the house and can feel the wonderful memories that were created here by Gemma and her family. This is a magical place and I will continue to return for many years to come!

We loved our stay! It was so magical to wake up to the sound of the waves, the views of the mountains and to feel absolutely relaxed! The house is so well set up – with everything you could think of. A home away from home. The outdoor bath overlooking the ocean view was a favourite for me, as well as sunset drinks on the fabulous deck! The kids loved the tepee, the rope swing in the trees and having a bonfire on the beach. So much to do and explore, but a beautiful spot to relax too. Do as much or as little as you like! We will be back!
